What I love about Emily + Pat is their natural sweetness and affection for each other. We got together for their engagement photo session in Boston and it is one of my favorite sessions to date. Boston is so lovely in the fall, and we started early in Copley Square near the Boston Public Library while the city was still pretty quiet. Then we made our way to the Boston Public Garden and finished out the session there.
It's important to me that my couples feel comfortable in front of the camera, so I typically spend time chatting and breaking the ice, and then I like to step back and let them relax into each other. I'm a firm believer that you can't pose a couple into a fake snuggly pose and make it look real. Couples have their own way of pulling each other close, where their hands fall on each other on an arm, the small of a back, a hip. I am looking for those little things that my couples do that show how they love each other and show their affection.
Emily and Pat were incredibly sweet together, with lots of little kisses, laughs, and really just loving on each other. They really felt comfortable with each other and allowed me to just kind of move and work around them to photograph their love and relationship. It was an honor working with them and I can't wait until their wedding in September!
